My 2024 Books Summary: A Year in Reading

With this post, I’m kicking off my 2024 year-in-review summary. On my blog, I plan to share only things that not only help me reflect on the past year but might also be useful to others—whether it’s book recommendations, as in this case, or interesting tips and advice in posts I’ve got planned for the future.

Today’s post is all about summarizing the books I read or listened to during 2024, along with my quick ratings on a 10-point scale, ranging from 0 to 5.

Personally, I find book recommendations incredibly helpful—I’m always on the lookout for ideas on what to read next or what to add to my list. Whenever I visit blogs or profiles, that’s the angle I’m most interested in. Because of this, I’ve decided to add a dedicated section to my website where I’ll keep a running list of every book I’ve read, complete with my ratings and short reviews.

You can check out this section here: andrewbus.com/book-reviews

  31. Super Human - Dave Asprey - 4/5
  32. Disrupted - Dan Lyons - 4/5

As you’ll notice, the list might seem a little random and all over the place. That’s because it includes fiction, non-fiction, biographies, and memoirs. A lot of people stick strictly to one type of book, like just fiction or only serious non-fiction. My approach is a bit different—I like to read two books at a time: one serious and the other lighter, more entertaining. I usually listen to one during the day—on my way to work or during breaks—and read the other at night to unwind.
